ChristNet A Partnership of Churches Serving the Homeless
Our Mission Statement
The mission of ChristNet is to provide temporary overnight emergency housing assistance and other services to homeless men, women, and children. We do this by providing a safe secure sleeping space indoors; offering three meals per day; and by maintaining a case manager who identifies and coordinates mainstream resources to help those in need re-stabilize their lives. ChristNet promotes cooperation among churches and non-profit organizations as we strive to assist our brothers and sisters in God’s family.
ChristNet Guest Reunites with Family...
ChristNet is excited to tell the story of former guest Montie, a homeless man
who hadn't seen his cousin in nearly 40 years. During his time with ChristNet,
Montie stayed at one of our host churches in Woodhaven. God used that time to
reunite Montie with his cousins Pat and Howard.
Scout helps the homeless...
Local Eagle Scout Steven Gunther collected and donated over 100 sleeping bags
ChristNet is a seasonal rotating overnight shelter for men, women, and children when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. As a shared ministry of more than fifty Protestant and Catholic churches in the Downriver and western Wayne County suburbs, the goal of ChristNet is to insure that no one has to be left out in the cold. Guests receive a warm place to stay overnight and three meals, and they may stay for up to ninety days. There is no charge.
ChristNet provides temporary overnight rotating shelter and supportive services to homeless persons in a safe and caring environment, and we identify and coordinate mainstream resources to help those in need re-stabilize their lives. Guest needs are addressed by our case manager and client advocate and also through referral to area agencies that provide specialized services and assistance.

ChristNet is a Member of the Out-Wayne County Homeless Services Coalition...
Since its inception in 1993, the Coalition, an informal partnership between over thirty agencies, organizations and governmental units, has led the effort to create a more unified front in combating the causes of homelessness in Out-Wayne County.
The member organizations who became involved did so to form a continuum of care that would address the specific needs of Out-Wayne County's homeless population while fostering better communication and closing service gaps.
By basing service delivery on customer need rather than agency or funder-driven priorities, Coalition was strengthened. Using these principles as their framework, the Coalition established clear and definitive goals that continue to move its efforts today.
